MEC Majuba visits at Litho Secondary School in Nokaneng Circuit

News Image As the country commemorates Human Rights Day this week, the MEC for Education, Mr. Bonakele Majuba, conducted a School Infrastructure Improvement Monitoring visit to Litho Secondary School in Nokaneng Circuit, Dr. JS Moroka Local Municipality, on Monday, March 18, 2024.

MEC Majuba emphasized that improving school infrastructure and creating a conducive learning environment is a fundamental human rights issue that must always be prioritized.

Litho Secondary School underwent extensive renovations, including the demolition of dilapidated classrooms, a laboratory, and the administration block. The project also involved rehabilitating 14 classrooms, constructing two additional classroom blocks, an administration block, and a library. Further improvements included upgrading the septic tank, covered walkways, parking facilities, water reticulation, and electrification to ensure a reliable and efficient learning environment.

During his visit, MEC Majuba assessed the progress made and encouraged the community to take care of the upgraded facilities, emphasizing their role in empowering learners to achieve their full potential. He highlighted the government's commitment to fostering quality education by providing the necessary infrastructure.

"As we celebrate Human Rights Day, we also celebrate the government's dedication to creating favorable conditions for teaching and learning. We appreciate this investment in Litho Secondary School and the bright future it promises for the people of Nokaneng Circuit and beyond," said MEC Majuba.

Learners, especially those in Grade 12, were thrilled by this initiative and expressed their gratitude after receiving tablets to enhance their learning experience. They assured the MEC that they would work diligently to reach their full potential.
